Value Added Tax (VAT) is a tax that’s charged on most goods and services that VAT-registered businesses provide in the UK. It’s also charged on goods and some services that are imported from countries outside the European Union (EU), and brought into the UK from other EU countries.
VAT is charged when a VAT-registered business sells to either another business or to a non-business customer.
When VAT-registered businesses buy goods or services they can generally reclaim the VAT they’ve paid.
Regardless of where your business may be registered or where your products may be coming from/to – MSD is a VAT registered company based in the UK therefore all services carried out by MSD is VAT applicable (currently at 20%). There are no exceptions to this rule.
Whilst we have no control over fuel prices we must take this opportunity to emphasize that MSD do not seek to profit from any fuel surcharge and, in line with rest of the transport industry, we are campaigning for a reduction in the prohibitive cost of fuel for essential users.
As a result we use a completely transparent calculation which is communicated each month to all our clients. Our fuel surcharge is calculated monthly using the bulk diesel price as published on the RHA website. Please use the link below to view the fuel price information from the RHA.
Currently as standard we operate between 3.25% and 7% as surcharge on all services.
