Mitchell Storage and Distribution have sponsored Belgrave Rugby Club for the second year.
“There’s a lot of life skills that you learn and there’s a handful of strong ethics of the sport that embed into the people who take part even if over a short period of time. These are transferable into the business environment such as team work, leadership, trust and respect. These are fundamental to the culture at MSD and we are proud to align the business to the sport and Belgrave RFC.”

The Belgrave area of Leicester has a long tradition of Rugby playing which is comparable to that of any area of the country.
The city’s premier side, Leicester Tigers, started playing in Belgrave in 1880, beating a Belgrave team in 1881 by 1G 2T to nil. Although there is some evidence, which suggests that Belgrave St Peter’s was already in existence in 1881, it has always been understood by the club that Belgrave St Peter’s was founded in 1883.
More recently, Belgrave RFC reached the county cup final last season which was a very special occasion for the club. Representatives from MSD were in attendance at the Leicester Tigers stadium on Welford Road to see the spectacle unfold. Although Belgrave suffered a heavy loss against higher ranked opposition, General Manager Tom Ball crossed the line to score. The occasion was well celebrated and everybody affiliated to the club will have long lasting memories.
Tom Ball said “Props don’t score too often so to get on the score sheet at Welford Road was a proud moment that I will make sure to tell the grandkids in years to come”.
